The Gaming Sessions podcast is a project I have been thinking about for some time. It started life as I way for me to spill my heart out about games in an audio format. Gaming podcasts generally include two or more people discussing games, but I was unsure if I could not only find someone to talk to about games but find someone who is available a the ridiculous times times that I create content (it’s currently midnight as I write this). The podcast includes John Bibby and myself and talks about the games that we are currently playing, gaming news, features and touches upon geek culture out in the real ‘non-digital’ world. The gaming sessions podcast uses the line ‘The audio support group for gaming addicts’ and we do not use this lightly. I have an addictive personality and have found myself hooked on many things, the best of which, has been gaming. I am fully aware of the perils of gaming addiction having spent days awake playing, taking a laptop in the bath, so I can continue playing and now have a routine in which I can play on different devices throughout a day. However, I have a handle on it and I love the amount of experiences gaming affords me. Whilst the majority of the the content will be focused on gaming and geek culture we are happy to discuss the psychological aspects of games and gaming. This initial test recording was the first ‘unofficial episode as we experimented with sound settings, learned the ropes of podcasting and discussed
- Batman: Arkham Knight
- Dying Light
- DLC
- Saturo Iwata
- Games, Gaming and Video Games
We sent this out to various people for feedback and we are making a number of changes for the first ‘official’ episode but this should give you a flavour for our upcoming show. If you have any feedback, questions or comments, please add them below as we would love to hear from you.
