Space-faring RPG sequel confirmed for all major platforms, including Game Pass
The neon-tinged cyberpunk world of Citizen Sleeper is preparing to expand beyond the Ring, as developer Jump Over the Age has announced a January 31st, 2025 release date for its highly anticipated sequel, Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector.
This narrative-driven RPG will launch simultaneously across PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with Game Pass subscribers able to dive in from day one. The announcement comes alongside a limited-time demo on Steam, giving players an early glimpse of life in the Starward Belt until December 8th.
Where the original game confined players to the claustrophobic corridors of Erlin’s Eye, Starward Vector appears to be setting its sights on the vast expanse of space. Players once again step into the synthetic shoes of a Sleeper – an artificial human seeking to escape their corporate masters. This time, however, they’ll have their own ship and crew to manage as they navigate the treacherous politics and personalities of the Starward Belt.
The series’ signature dice-based gameplay mechanics return with added complexity. Each action will force players to weigh the potential rewards against the risk of damaging their precious dice – the very tools they need to survive. Push too hard, and you might find your Sleeper’s systems accumulating dangerous glitches, a compelling risk-reward system that should keep players on their toes.
Fellow Traveller, the game’s publisher, has built a reputation for backing innovative narrative experiences, and Starward Vector appears to be following firmly in those footsteps. With its blend of space exploration, crew management, and character-driven storytelling, it’s shaping up to be an intriguing evolution of the original’s formula.
The launch is just around the corner, and we’ll be keeping a close eye on how this ambitious sequel develops. In the meantime, curious players can sample a slice of synthetic life via the Hexport demo on Steam.
