Prepare to enter the bizarre world of Japanese mascot management this spring, as Kaizen Game Works has officially announced that Promise Mascot Agency will launch on 10th April 2025 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
The announcement came during IGN Fan Fest, where the developers showcased an exclusive new trailer for their follow-up to the cult hit Paradise Killer.
From Yakuza to Mascot Management
Promise Mascot Agency puts players in the role of Michi, a former yakuza member who finds himself managing a struggling mascot agency in a cursed Japanese town. Alongside assistant manager Pinky☆, players will recruit an eclectic roster of sentient mascots, negotiate their contract terms, and assign them to jobs across town to restore the agency to its former glory.
The game appears to blend management sim elements with exploration, as players drive through the town in an upgradeable Kei Truck to discover new opportunities and interact with the locals. According to the trailer, building relationships with the town’s “lovable local weirdos” will be crucial to success, unlocking Hero Cards that can be played to assist mascots when they inevitably find themselves in trouble.
A Labour of Love
“We’ve been working on Promise Mascot Agency for four and a half years!” said Oli Clarke Smith, Game Director at Kaizen Game Works. “We have put everything into this game. We have worked with some absolutely top tier talent. We love this game, it is really special. We’re thrilled to announce the release date and start the countdown to mascot chaos!”
The game also features a mysterious narrative thread, with players uncovering the truth behind Michi’s exile and the debt hanging over his head whilst exploring the “forbidden mysteries” of the cursed town.
Try Before You Buy
For those keen to sample the mascot management madness ahead of the April launch, a playable demo is available now on Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, and Epic platforms. The demo should give players a taste of the unique blend of management gameplay and narrative exploration that made Paradise Killer stand out from the crowd.
With its distinct visual style, quirky premise, and the pedigree of its developers, Promise Mascot Agency could be one of the more distinctive management sims to hit Xbox this spring.
